COURSE DESCRIPTION & EDUCATIONAL GOALS:

Learn essential skills and approaches to enhance your practice with trauma-informed care.  This course provides foundational knowledge and practical tools to effectively support clients who have experienced trauma, ensuring a safe and empowering therapeutic environment.

Participants will be able to...

  • Identify and apply the key principles that define trauma-informed care in a clinical practice

  • Identify 3 characteristics of a fight, flight, or freeze response

  • Implement and name strategies to create a safe therapeutic environment

  • Understand how trauma is stored in a person’s nervous system

  • Name at least 3 therapeutic modalities that are helpful in treating trauma

Sari Rose Barron is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and is the founder and director of SoCal Individual, Family, & Trauma Therapy, a group practice known for its specialized focus on trauma and other specialties. She works in private practice and specializes in trauma/PTSD, Dissociative Disorders, Parenting, & Adolescents.  She is also certified in EMDR , and EMDRIA Consultant in Training, and trained in Brainspotting, TF-CBT, Parts Work (IFS informed), EMDR & IFS, Attachment-Focused EMDR, and Somatic Work.

Refunds & Cancellation Policy:

All refund requests must be submitted in writing and received no later than 5 business days before the event. Refunds will be processed within 3-5 days of receiving the written request. A $25 administrative fee will be applied to cancellations of paid events made before the cancellation deadline. Refund requests received after the deadline will not be honored. SoCal Individual, Family, & Trauma Therapy reserves the right to grant refunds outside of this policy at its discretion. In the event the speaker is unable to present due to an emergency, SoCal Individual, Family, & Trauma Therapy will issue a full refund to all participants and notify them via email.

CE Credits:

Course meets the qualifications for 3 hours of continuing education credit for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. CEU Completion certificates will be awarded at the end of the course in exchange for a completed evaluation form. SoCal Individual, Family, & Trauma Therapy (Provider #1032784) is approved by the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to sponsor continuing education for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs, and LEPs. SoCal Individual, Family, & Trauma Therapy maintains responsibility for the program/course and all its content.

Certificate of Completion:

Certificates of Completion will be provided once payment is made in full and all course requirements are completed. Please make sure to sign in and out, as this allows us to email your certificate to you after the course.
